CATS Testing
Hummingbird Aviation is an FAA and FCC approved
testing center. Our tests are administered on computer using the Computer Assisted Testing
Service (CATS) system. We offer three well lit, quiet testing rooms equipped with new dedicated
computers for the ultimate testing experience. At the end of your examination, your test will
be scored and your results printed immediately. As an AOPA member you receive $10 off each
exam! You must present your current, valid AOPA membership card to receive the discount. Join
AOPA now!
We offer the most flexible hours in the Twin Cities. Walk-ins are welcome. At
Hummingbird Aviation, testing is conducted six days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM; however, most
tests must start by 3 PM in order to allow ample time to finish. Note that you must
pre-register with CATS in order to test on Saturday afternoon. Have a special

- Group Exercise Instructor (GEI) (75 Questions / 90 Minutes)
- Personal Trainer Certification (PTC) (100 Questions / 90 Minutes)
- The cost of each NETA exam is $30. There will be a pass or
fail letter printed out at the end of the examination.

There are two ways to register for an exam:
Pre-register and Prepay with CATS
- Call CATS at 800-947-4228 during business hours (M-F 8am - 7pm Central Time; Sat 10am
- 2pm Central Time)
- Have a credit card at-hand
- Hummingbird Aviation is site number 55301
- Call Hummingbird Aviation at 952-944-2628 and reserve a testing room
Register and Pay at Hummingbird
- Call Hummingbird Aviation at 952-944-2628 and reserve a testing room
- Arrive 15 minutes early to complete on site registration
- Registration at Hummingbird can only be conducted during CATS business hours.
- Walk-in testing is based on a first come first served basis; pre-registered
applicants have priority.
